EFA wishes you best of success for your 2017 festival

Dear Mr Spahic,

The European Festivals Association (EFA) and its 100 festivals united in EFA, the network of festivals, wish you a successful and inspiring festival edition 2017!

We are delighted to see each and every year such exceptional artistic programme in your festival. The Sarajevo Winter Festival continues to set up new initiatives, co-productions and cooperations that succeed in involving your local communities and in bringing artists and audiences together. You allow your audiences to step out of their daily routine, to be open and curious, and to discover the best of artistic creation. You engage in a dialogue with artists and partners from across borders: China, the US, Africa, Asia and of course Europe.

EFA is the oldest community for and of festival makers! It was established in 1952 to bridge the distance between organizations, to create connections & enhance contacts to serve the enrichment of each festival’s artistic offer & its organizational opportunities. We need to experience and live replies; not get stuck in the question or its analysis. That is what you are doing.

We are very honoured that this year, festivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina are invited to participate in the European Label for Festivals initiative by the European Union: EFFE – Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe, is the programme run by EFA to recognize Festivals’ contribution to Europe’s integration process.

We, the EFA members and the Sarajevo Winter Festivals as its most important platform and board member Mr Ibrahim Spahic in Bosnia, are its most important ambassadors, the pioneers of festival making and collaboration.

The EFA Presidency, Board, Secretariat, and all EFA members from across Europe and beyond wish you an inspiring 2017 festival edition.

With our kindest regards and festive greetings,
